About Andrew Carpentier, artist

I have been painting for over a dozen years...at the beginning on my own. But I understood I needed to apprentice in order to properly paint. I was lucky to attend a workshop led by Philip Frey of Sullivan Maine who enabled me to grasp the proper first steps: approaching the subject, sketching thumbnails to work out problems of perspective and focus, and roughing in the large swatches of color to structure my painting.

In addition, I have benefited with studying many other painters which I will also acknowledge.
